I’ve arrived: the famed Kennedy Meadows! Set up camp pretty late last night. It was freezing, but I was snug as a bug in a rug. Love that sleeping bag. Woke to condensation on the inside of my tent, but I was warm and happy. And it was 1030a, so life was good. Had just enough patchy sunlight to get my gear dried out as I set up my tab and picked up my packages. Spent way more money than I should’ve today, but half of it was the cost of my bear canister, which is non-negotiable for the next few hundred miles. Almost all of my food fit. Closer than most everyone else I saw, anyways.

During my awesome lazy zero today, I had something like 4 sodas, 2 ice creams, 3 candy bars, 3 burgers, a beer, and a few small supplementary food items for the trail. I was straight loungin’. Hoping to get out of here early tomorrow, so I don’t get sucked in. It wouldn’t be that hard to spend a few days here – and a few hundred dollars – especially given the few inches of snow that fell over the Sierra in the last 36 hours. Should be fun up there!
